KUALA LUMPUR — Tucked away on the first floor beside GI Street at UCSI University, a small bakery has become a hidden gem for students and locals. Every afternoon, the irresistible scent of fresh pastries draws people in from all walks of life. Behind this success stands a local Malaysian female entrepreneur who turned her passion into reality in 2020.
Her name is Hannah, journey wasn’t easy. Starting from a rented space on the second floor, she struggled with low foot traffic. Instead of giving up, she became a quick learner. She mastered baking by watching online tutorials and learning from senior bakers.
To survive, she pivoted her marketing to social media, using short video clips to attract a wider audience.

Despite the initial setbacks, the shop quickly became a hub for campus life. Seeing the diverse student population, the baker carefully adjusted her recipes to cater to customers from different ethnic backgrounds. She believed that good food should bring people together, not divide them.
Beyond the business, the bakery has become a source of community joy. The shop owner frequently hosts small baking classes for local children. Recently, a group of kids visited to make their own cupcakes.
The bakery was filled with laughter as little hands got covered in flour and frosting. The shop owner patiently guided them, showing them how to pipe cream and decorate their creations.
